Conference To Discuss Biotechnology Regulatory Framework

A conference on modern biotechnology will be held here next week to promote a balanced regulatory framework to facilitate the growth of the biotechnology industry in Malaysia.

The two-day conference at the Kuala Lumpur Hilton starting Monday is jointly organised by Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation Sdn Bhd (BiotechCorp) and the Malaysian Biotechnology Information Centre (Mabic).

The conference aimed to promote a flexible regulatory framework that would facilitate biotechnology research and industry growth without compromising the safety of human health and the environment, BiotechCorp said in a statement here.

A total of 17 local and foreign speakers will be presenting their papers to provide insights in relation to their expertise and experiences in biotechnology fields.
