BiotechCorp picks 20
for entrepreneur training in US

MALAYSIAN Biotechnology Corporation Sdn Bhd (BiotechCorp)
is taking 20 participants to California in the
United States as part of its human capital
development under its Global Bio-Entrepreneurship
Programme (QB3).
“This programme is in line with BiotechCorp’s target
to train up to 240 entrepreneurs in the next three
years,” said its chief executive officer Datuk
Iskandar Mizal Mahmood.
The week-long trip from Saturday will see
representatives from BioNexus companies, research
universities key government agencies, institutions
supporting the development of entrepreneurs, small
and medium enterprises as well as public listed
companies investing in biotechnology.
He said QB3 is a collaboration with the California
Institute for Quantitative Biomedical Research for
research, human capital and bio entrepreneurship
development.
“Participants will benefit from hands-on experiences
and case study discussions with particular emphasis
on challenges and opportunities in the biotechnology
market,” Iskandar said in Kuala Lumpur.
He said it provides content-rich training enabling
participants to strengthen existing capabilities in
life science, entrepreneurship and venture financing
in biotechnology.
“A significant part of this programme is the
participation of a panel of international experts
who will provide much sought after sharing of
experiences and networking,” he added.
The course also provides in-depth training to
establish successful biotechnology companies in
Asia, Latin America or other emerging biotech
economies.
Participants will learn from experts in the
industry, academia and venture capital market. -
