Training of Patent Examiners
July 2007 -- BiotechCorp and MyIPO recently received approval for a Patent Examiner International Exchange Programme where Malaysian patent examiners will have the opportunity of participating in short attachments with intellectual property offices from around the world.
The participants to this programme will benefit from mentoring and coaching by senior examiners from the host country as well as class room style instruction on examination techniques.
Two programmes will be piloted for 2007 - the European Patent Office (EPO) program is expected to commence in December (3-21 December) while the Korean Patent Office (KIPO) programme is expected to commence in October (22 0ctober – 22 December). A total of four patent examiners will be sent to each country.
