BIO2005 Philadelphia

Biotechnology Industry Organisation (BIO) is an organisation that brings together biotechnology information, advocacy and business support. Currently BIO represents more than 1000 biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centres and related organisations in all 50 states of the US and 33 other nations. BIO members are involved in the research and development of health care, agricultural, industrial and environmental biotechnology products.

BIO is responsible for organising the largest annual biotechnology convention and exhibition in the world. With more than 17,000 attendees including heads of state, congressional leaders, scientists, CEOs of pharmaceutical companies, venture capitalists, investors and academia from all over the world, all with a vested interest in biotechnology.

This year, Malaysia made its presence felt at BIO 2005 in Philadelphia where we managed to garner the interest of the world biotech community. The Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation together with the Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation headed the Malaysian Delegation which consisted of companies such as MTDC, MIDA, AlphaBiologics, InnoBiologics, InfoValley, and StemLife to name a few.
