BiotechCorp Off To Woo Foreign Investors
This July, BiotechCorp will kick off its ‘Healthcare Roadshow’. The roadshow will bring BiotechCorp to highly targeted large, medium and small biotechnology-related organizations of the world. It is a platform for BiotechCorp to introduce our country as a biotechnology hub with potential. The roadshow will be used to build relationships between these organizations and Malaysia for future business opportunities.
The highlight of the roadshow is the exclusive discussions between the selected organizations and BiotechCorp. “The discussions are crucial. It will help us understand the organizations and vice versa. With this understanding, we can then explore opportunities for collaborations which will create prospects for our local biotechnology players,” said Iskandar Mizal Mahmood, the CEO of BiotechCorp.
BiotechCorp has targeted a few countries. “Realizing the strength of the United States in biotechnology, we have selected it as the first location for the roadshow,” continued Iskandar. “Other destinations forthcoming are Europe and India.”
The Healthcare Roadshow is one of BiotechCorp’s industry development efforts to promote Malaysia and its biotechnology offerings. The roadshow aims to woo foreign players to Malaysia. BiotechCorp hopes to match-make international companies with Malaysian companies so that best-of-breed partnerships are established and fostered.
Other activities in the pipeline include the nationwide roadshow which will take BiotechCorp and selected relevant bodies to the different regions in Malaysia and Bio Malaysia 2006.
