BiotechCorp participated in Bio Johor 2007

BiotechCorp recently participated in the 1st International Biotechnology Conference & Showcase (Bio Johor 2007).  Bio Johor 2007 is a biennial event associated with biotechnology and biodiversity.  It was organized by the State of Johor and held concurrently with the “Hari Peladang, Penternak & Nelayan Peringkat Negeri Johor 2007”.

BiotechCorp’s Chief Executive Officer, YBhg Dato’ Iskandar Mizal Mahmood presented a topic entitled “Future Directions of Biotechnology in Malaysia” on the first day of the event (please click here for a copy of the presentation slides). Dato’ Iskandar stressed that the Malaysian biotechnology industry is moving rapidly and is gaining its momentum.  It is indeed an enabler for wealth creation and societal well-being.  Malaysians are to expect a bright future with the development of the biotechnology industry.

At Bio Johor 2007, BiotechCorp also participated as an exhibitor.  BiotechCorp’s booth were visited by industry players who were interested to find out more about the one-stop-centre’s roles and functions, the BioNexus status and events that BiotechCorp is organizing for the development of the industry.

Bio Johor 2007 was an ideal platform for Regional and International networking opportunity and industrial expansion through active participations from biotechnology players.  The objectives of this event are as follows:

• To create a platform showcasing on agricultural and biotechnology industry in Malaysia.
• Provide business opportunities among biotechnology industries inclusive of agricultural within the State of Johor.
• To promote and encourage value-added services in the agricultural Industry and product based on biotechnology
• A form of tourism activity for the State of Johor in conjunction of Visit Malaysia 2007.
• To highlight and share scientific findings on research and development and practices related to biotechnology and biodiversity professionals and practitioners.
• To provide a forum for meeting and promote discussion, exploration, formulation of strategies, exchange of ideas and information, experiences, state-of the-art technologies, products and services among experts, researchers, practitioners and health care providers from all over the world.
• To strengthen ties, facilitates and enhance networking among experts in the field of biotechnology.
• To provide opportunities for discussion on future collaborative research projects among professionals and other interested individuals and relevant agencies.
