BIOTEC is a Belgian company founded in 1984, specialising in wastewater and organic solid waste treatment in tropical regions. The company established a Latin America branch in the mid-eighties and provided its expert service in the farming, agro-industrial and urban sectors.

Our extensive years of experience has allowed us building top of the art systems, methodology and technologies, making BIOTEC one of the world leaders in this field.

BIOTEC INTERNATIONAL is the world technological leader (biotechnologist, designer, contractor and operator) in biogas generation and use in the tropical agro-industry. With a 20 years track record in effluent treatment for the palm oil industry in South America, BIOTEC has the proven technology, expertise and reputation to undertake any biogas project in the world.

BIOTEC built the first CDM-biogas project in the palm sector, registered by UNFCCC (United Nations Framework in September 2006 (EECOPALSA, Honduras). BIOTEC is until now, still the only company in the world that has effectively issued CER (Carbon Certificates) in the palm industry. BIOTEC is also the only biogas company in the world, in any sector, which has issued more CER than registered by UNFCCC.

BIOTEC has recently setup an office in Malaysia to serve as a regional hub, which will allow our company to cater to the services of the South East Asian (SEA) market. We aim to assist the SEA agro-industries, to generate, capture and use biogas from different agro effluents such as palm, rubber, cassava and sugarcane distilleries and feed-lots.

All our efforts aspire to meet our company’s main objective, to create a project that will be profitable but will also serve to help the client’s business as well as reduce the green house gases (GHG) emission to the environment.
