ASMA AGRO (M) SDN BHD (“AASB”) is a wholly-owned
Bumiputera company that produces and supplies good
quality plantlets from elite selected clones through the
micro propagation tissue culture technology. AASB is
found by entrepreneurs and managed by a combination of
scientific staff and management professionals.
Our mission is to develop, enhance and promote the value
chain, cultivating high value-added agricultural
activities and large-scale commercial farming, utilizing
the full potential of micro propagation plant tissue
cultured technology.
AASB has the technical capabilities and intellectual
proprietary rights in the production and supply of
certain genotypes of plantlets through plant tissue
culture and nursery propagation technologies, including
media recipe, formulation and plant processing and
maintenance procedures. The technology which is capable
of producing high yield crop in a shorter time will add
to the commercial value and increase the supply of
various types of fruits and other selected elite plants
in Malaysia. Currently, AASB has the capability and
capacity to regenerate millions of plantlets for MD2
pineapple and Cavendish bananas. MD2 pineapple or Nanas
Dinar is a hybrid pineapple which becomes the standard
for the international market because of its colour,
flavor, shape, life span and ripeness superior to other
varieties of pineapple.
AASB has its own laboratory incubator and research
centre at UTM-MTDC Incubation Centre, Skudai, Johor
Bahru and nursery farm at Gunung Panti, Kota Tinggi,
Johor.
