Hexagon Green Biotech Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hexagon Green Sdn Bhd (incorporated in 1997), has taken over the tissue culture business and R&D activities as of 18 February 2008. The company brings together a group of former university professors and professionals with over 20 years of experience in agriculture and plant tissue culture. The company focuses on the importance of tissue culture techniques as an integral part of commercial production of agro-based products namely orchids, vanilla, banana and pineapple. Improved techniques of tissue culturing chrysanthemum, strawberry and pineapple have been developed. 

We have established links with other tissue culture laboratories, nurseries, commercial growers, wholesalers and exporters. Our tissue culture laboratory at MOSTI’s Malaysia Nuclear Agency Technology Park at Bangi, Selangor is expanding its output from the current 70,000 to 300,000 plantlets every month with a storage capacity of 400,000 plantlets. Our R&D activities now focuses on meristem cloning and bioconservation of Phalaenopsis orchid hybrids and species as well as improvement on tissue culture protocols for existing products.
